Chief Scientist and Inventor Don Haden, PhD, founded DFI’s Research and Development
group and in so doing transferred his remarkable knowledge of Chemistry for future
generations to benefit. Dr. Haden passed away in 2003 and is missed by all.
Since its founding, the team has continued to grow and now includes several brilliant
team members including a Regents’ Scholar from the University of California.
In 2007, DFI opened a new R&D Center to provide additional room for the growing
team and to expand its capabilities even further.
Our desire to integrate cutting edge technologies into new markets and new businesses
assures our licensees first access to innovative ideas that will continue to transform
themselves into new and better products.
Research will always be the essential pillar of DFI innovative technologies.

Diamon Fusion® Hand-Applied Version B
After years of research and development, in 2005 DFI introduced the first
generation of a Hand-Applied solution that achieved the same Diamon Fusion®
patented coating as the original vapor deposition process. In 2007, DFI introduced
the second generation Hand-Applied solution (known as HAB, for Hand-Applied version
B) to replace the first generation. This new hand-applied process of applying the
patented Diamon Fusion® nano-coating makes field applications more viable
(especially quicker and easier to apply) and with far less equipment and therefore
equipment maintenance and the quality is on a par with the DFI vapor method.
This NEW method of application of DFI’s nanotechnology also creates a cross-linked
and branched, capped silicone film, and the bond is still a covalent bond
(sharing electrons with the glass itself). Like DFI’s vapor method, but non-chlorinated,
the chain of atoms manipulated during this chemical process is also done at nano-scale
levels.

NEW Diamon Fusion® NanoPax™
In our never-ending pursuit to make Diamon Fusion® better or easier
to apply, DFI recently launched a very applier-friendly hand-applied form factor
called the NanoPax™. In the hands of a trained professional that will ensure the
glass is properly prepared, applying Diamon Fusion® is cleaner and more efficient
than ever before. NanoPax™ reduce the amount of fumes and overspray, making the
Diamon Fusion® application more eco-friendly as well.
While the application process is easier and cleaner, the Diamon Fusion® coating
that is created is the same patented cross-linked and branched, capped silicone
film.

Diamon Fusion® Revitalizer/Protectant
This new end- user (consumer) friendly has been developed to allow licensees’
customers, over time and as they wish, to regularly bring their treated surfaces
back to the original ultra hydrophobicity (high contact angle) the patented vapor
process creates, as well as a ‘stand alone’ product. The Revitalizer/Protectant
is, by itself, superior to most existing spray-type water repellant coatings being
offered in the market place today.
