Boat coated with DFI technology takes 1st place at racing event
SAN CLEMENTE, November 2003- Diamon Fusion®
International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive supplier of
the Diamon Fusion® enhanced hydrophobic technology, in joint efforts with
Diamond-Fusion Australia
P/L (DFA), DFI’s Marketing Partner for Australia and New Zealand,
sponsored the winning boat (The Mirage 730) on the Long Rec2 category and
placed 3rd in the Open Long Rec2 category at the world’s renowned 111km canoeing
race down Sydney’s Hawkesbury River (The 27th Hawkesbury Canoe Classic)
, in 10 hours 17 minutes and 18 seconds, among 400 craft and over 600 paddlers
(see photo below).
The Mirage 730 (see photo below) was the only craft fully coated with DFI’s
newly developed technology, applicable to fiberglass and plastic surfaces.
Crispin Gardner and Trevor Ayton, Managing Directors of DFA, stated:
“We applied DFI’s new multi-surface protective spray to our sponsored
craft without really knowing how much of a difference it will make but we were thrilled
to see that the only boat that had a hydrophobic coating won its category.”
DFI’s enhanced hydrophobic technology
provides a unique molecular change in the treated surface, creating a covalent bond,
the strongest possible bond, in chemical terms, that a hydrophobic coating can furnish
(a covalent bond means that the coating shares the electrons within the glass itself,
thus becoming a part of the glass). Diamon Fusion®’s covalent bond
provides expanded durability and additional properties such as scratch and impact
resistance, added brilliance and lubricity, additional electrical insulation and
capability of receiving Invisible Art Glass™,
among other significant characteristics.
