SAN CLEMENTE, January 2004-
Diamon Fusion® International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive
supplier of the Diamon Fusion® hydrophobic nanotechnology, signed a 5-year license
agreement with GRUPO NAVAS, one of Spain’s most reputable glass manufacturers.
GRUPO NAVAS, a 25-year industrial group based in Barcelona, Spain,
is an UNE EN ISO 9002 and INCE certified company and has distribution centers throughout
the region of Cataluña, Spain. GRUPO NAVAS’ range of glass products
includes laminated glass, tempered glass under its trademark Tritemp®
and insulating glass (Aislaglas). GRUPO NAVAS is formed by
the following companies: Cristalerías Trinidad SA, Barnaglass SA, Reuglass
SA, Gerunglass SL, Realglass SA, Vidrios Navas SL, Vidrios Gloria SL and Centerglass
SL.
Albert Palau, General Director of GRUPO NAVAS, stated: “We have
been looking for an innovative technology to add to our product line and have found
DFI’s low-maintenance coating to be a very good match that will help us enhance
our glass; we are excited about this new surface protection that will bring additional
value and a new competitive edge to our group of companies.”
Guillermo Seta, Vice President- Executive Director of DFI, reported:
"The licensing of such a prestigious industrial group represents another solid
step of expansion in the European market within DFI’s Global Marketing Strategy”.
DFI’s nanotechnology multi-functional characteristics include: water
and oil repellency (hydrophobic and oleophobic), impact and scratch
resistance, protection against graffiti, dirt and stains, finger print protection,
UV stability, additional electrical insulation, protection against calcium and sodium
deposits and increased brilliance and lubricity. DFI’s coating, a patented
process, works at nanoscale levels and the change of the molecular composition of
the silica-based surface (glass) created by DFI’s chemistry and bonding nanoparticles,
along with the cross-linking, branching, and final ‘capping’,
enables the full efficiency of the coating process at an atomic scale. The nanoscale
is about a thousand times smaller than micro, that is, about 1/80,000 of the diameter
of a human hair.
